Creation and design of a brochure showcasing the artwork in carefully selected Montreal Metro stations in the network.
For the concept of this booklet, I decided to combine my love for minimalism and my recent interest in film photography.
This decision was made solely for the following reason: you only notice and appreciate the art in the metro when you take the time to look around. These moments are raw and special, just like when taking photos with film. You only have one chance so, you have to put the effort and thought into it before capturing that moment.
To apply the concept clearly, I chose to use polaroids as the booklet's main visual. And as for the booklet's grid and structure, I was inspired by the visual itself: polaroids have slim top, left and right margins, then a larger bottom margin.
I took the time to create little polaroids for each station, as well as add their unique station code. The chapter dividers portray the concept equally with the use of tape that was scanned and shaped to look like the 4 metro lines: orange, yellow, blue and green.
With all the elements combined into a minimalist space, I was able to create a lovely booklet showcasing the "Art in the Network" and its charm.
